When packing your belongings:

• Be sure to have packing supplies on hand such as bubble wrap, tape, rope, drop cloths, sheets, furniture covers, boxes, labels, and markers
• Protect furniture and other large items by using covers
• Make labels for everything packed away – marking them “this end up” or “fragile” if necessary
• Use the correct packing materials to protect your belongings
• Fill boxes to the top and tape shut
• Drain fluids from lawn mowers and other small engines
• Hang up clothes and drapery in wardrobe boxes to keep fabrics in good condition
• Be careful not to store anything combustible or perishable.
